Marion - April 2004 Newsletter Bula to you all, As I start this report to you all, I cannot but help think of Deut 28:1-7. We sure have experienced a couple of months of incredible blessing and miracles and stretching of our faith, with God bringing to us $31,726 through various grants and donations. But the best is yet to come. This is just the start. When you consider we have just a few people and churches supporting us (we sure would love to see more) and we are situated in the worst economically affected area of Fiji, yet God has really shown His GLORY - YES!!!!!!!!!!! We are providing bus fares for many of our students to travel to class and paying their fees as well as feeding them , all from our NCTC funds and my pocket. Sometime we feel like one of the disciples feeding the 4,000, some how the basket has never run out. We seem to have commitments around us everywhere yet somehow we always meet them. NCTC has run very much on faith since we began on the 1st of June 1999. We have just lived from week to week. Amazingly God has provided all our needs just in time. No student or staff member has ever gone without food as God has supernaturally met all our needs.
This year we have been very blessed with outstanding committed students. To date we have 13 Biblical students with us and possibly 2 more practical students who will be joining us shortly. These students are from all different churches and from all over Fiji - Savusavu, Rabi, Lautoka and Labasa (revival capital of Fiji). Should anyone out there wish to give on a monthly basis to NCTC to help support a student or our building program we would love to hear from you. Soon we will have 8 boys living on site, with more to come, and our need for money to feed and house our students will increase. Our bank statements make interesting reading, money comes in - sometimes a matter of hours - and then it is out their being used.
One day I believe God is going to give us supernatural favour and we will not only meet the needs of our Centre, but we will have much excess to bless many churches and ministries in the South Pacific.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM FEBUARY,
MARCH AND APRIL 2004 PUSH BIKES FOR OUR NCTC STUDENTS $1,200FJD: We were able to purchase 6 new bikes with helmets for our site boys, through money that came in. This has helped cut the travelling costs down, all though with all the rain we have had, the boys have not ridden as much as they would like, but they will soon. We could still do with at least 2 more bikes as our students increase ($220 per bike and helmet).
THE PIG PEN PROVISION - $1,500FJD: We have been given 6 pigs which we had to build pens for right then. Chuck drew up the plans and he told me we needed $1,500. So I told him to level the land, and we are going to start (we had zero in the bank at that moment). A day or so later I got a phone call from a local pastor who told me, he needs to plant a seed and he had something here for me, so I came down to get it !!!!!!!!! Guess what it was a $1,500 cheque !!!!!!!!!! He had no idea we needed money. Just felt to give us that amount. Also another amazing thing about this is the date on the cheque. It was for the week before, the cheque was written out before we even knew we needed that amount of money.
COCONUT PRESS GRANT $12,000 FJD: We put in for a grant for a coconut press, - $12,000 FJD, which has now been approved. This is going to be a great thing for us at NCTC, as it means that our students will be able to work for their fees, and food. Also the by product of the coconuts will feed our pigs, ducks, chickens etc... God is Great !!!!!
MOTOR BIKES FOR MINISTRY- $12,726 FJD: NCTC has always been a Resource Centre for many churches and ministries. Over the years NCTC has collected Bibles, goods, money etc... and sent them to where the biggest needs are, not only in our area but also all over Fiji. For many years we have seen ministry struggling, but still getting the job done. Over the last few months we have applied for 2 motorbikes through an organisation in Australia and the USA, to help two very worthy pastors . Praise God for His favour and for the hard work done by our friends in Australia. All of us love to see God bless such worthy ministry. This grant is worth $6,363.00 FJD per motorbike. These bikes are going to be used to bring many people into the Kingdom of God and give these pastors access to travel to many places. One will go to Rabi Island and the other one locally in Labasa. Praise God !!!!!!!!! I believe in the years to come God will use NCTC to be and even greater blessing as Resource Centre for many ministries from all over the South Pacific. YES!!!!!!! Just love hanging around with God watching Him do His Stuff!!!!!!
RESERVOIR WATER TANK GRANT - $4,300 FJD: Around November 2003 we put in for a grant to build a reservoir water tank, to store much needed water from our bore hole. Although NCTC is on town water supply it is nothing for the supply to be cut off for 2 weeks at a time, as you can imagine, with students on site this makes things quite difficult. This grant came in at the right time as we have just finished our bore hole and also our Biblical students have been on break this last week so they have been building the tank as a course, this is an amazing benefit to many communities to learn this skill, our boys and Chuck have worked hard and it is looking great.
It is with great expectation we look forward to see what the next months will bring as we hang around with God and watch Him do His stuff in bringing about the vision of NCTC to impact the South Pacific.
Bless you all. Check out our website
