How to Support NCTC or A Students

Marion August 2005 Newsletter

Bula to you all from a very nice Sunny day in Fiji,
It is quite cold at night now with temperatures as low as 22oC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sorry for taking so long in sending out this newsletter; we have had so much going on that it has taken quite awhile to find time to get around to doing it.

It sure has been a very action packed few months here at NCTC with lots of visitors from Australia and New Zealand and many more to come before the end of the year.

Firstly our students, God has blessed us with 17 awesome, hungry, young men and women from many different places and racial backgrounds. We have students from Dreketi, Savusavu, Nadi, Lautoka, Rabi and two young men from the Solomon Islands.
A Hindu man, who works on our site with the building program commented to me the other day, saying: "I am so impressed with your students. I see youth from all different racial groups loving each other like bothers and sisters in the students." I was really touched by the witness this is to the outside world. The potential in these students is enormous. I have started to take the preachers within the group to local churches on Sundays for them to minister. They have done an amazing job, and have preached with anointing and boldness, and now some of the local churches have asked if our students can do house group meetings, and have asked if our students can preach in their churches on Sundays, which is great training for them and a way in which we can help many of the local churches as well.

NCTC Building Programme

Visitor's Bungalow - After two years of building, little by little, our beautiful stone bungalow is now completely finished with hot and cold water, bathroom and laundry facilities, refrigerator, microwave and tea making facilities. (Thanks to the Hong Kong container which arrived last year, where many of the fittings and appliances came from).
Chicken Shed (Chicken Hilton) - What an amazing building this one is with minimal smell because of the great design. Manure does not stay around, but is collected for the vegetable garden and fruit trees. The agriculture department has brought many visitors up to our site to see the new design of our chicken shed. We now have both meat birds and layers in the shed.
Girl's Dormitory - Our first girl's dormitory is well on the way and should be completed within the next month or so. This building is a proto-type, being constructed in the same manner as we build our water tanks only an oval shape instead of round. This project was part of our building course where the students and three local builders learnt how to build a low cost house. This has being a great experience for those who were involved, as the building can now be reproduced in many other places. Again many people from local communities have shown interest in this building.
Classroom - Next Saturday we have a work team coming in from New Zealand to build our first classroom. This is a very exciting development for us as this is much needed for our Centre. When completed, this building should comfortably seat 35 to 40 students.

NCTC STAFF:

James and Leanne Morrissy - It is with much regret that James has resigned from NCTC, as Leanne's mother is now seriously ill in Australia. Leanne, being the only daughter is very close to her mother. The family felt they had no option but to return to Australia as Leanne is needed to help and be with her mother at this time.
Ian and Nicky Hawes - Ian has just resigned from NCTC for health reasons and will be returning with his family to New Zealand on the 13th of August.
Chuck and Sue McCay - Chuck has recently had a hernia operation in Labasa hospital and is recovering well.

For any of our friends wishing to donate to NCTC directly, or even to me personally; overseas cheques can be sent directly to us with minimal fees and bank charges at: P.O. Box.2581, Labasa, Fiji Islands, or deposited directly into our Bank.
